you know we always post news about shows and other crap but we never take you into the actual workings of UTM so here you go...
a little insight into songwriting...
songwriting is like trying to masturbate with 2 rocks. it is cool but sucks at the same time. and when you have 4 people fighting over the 2 rocks it sucks ass even more cuz...two options... either one person kills for possesion of the 2 rocks or two people get only one rock each, leaving no one to play the drums. and if you ever tried to whack off with only one rock you know that it doesn't work. YOU NEED BOTH ROCKS. the only solution is to get cooler rocks which i think we all know is the only way to write a song. duh.

UTM will be playing the friday of Penn State homecoming weekend with Katsu and Brian Lubrecht. It will be a drunken good time as we are looking forward to playing our favorite watering hole again with some good buds and some good suds.
UTM will also be playing DEVIL'S NIGHT Oct. 30 at the Brewery. Don't forget to dress up!!! And that doesn't mean buying a stupid wig on your way to the show, lazy ass.

we here at utm are in the process of relocating our living spaces into one glorious, shiny, new abode. okay, so it's not that shiny and it's only new to us, but it's damned glorious anyway. since we're down to the last of summer, we decided that it was high time to get our beach time in, so look for various utmers soaking up the sand and sun at your favorite vacation destination. we'll be back soon, ready to melt your faces with some high-octane rock.

we want to send out a big thanks to everyone who came and rocked out with us on bob, brad and joel's front porch! it was more fun than you can fathom, and there was even a kiddie pool. highlights include: crispy being thrown in the pool, the dude in drag and the guy breathing fire during our set. good times, good times. be sure to check back soon for more updates on shows, and if you're around state college, come down to the brewery on friday for more rock!

sorry about the recent site downtime. it pretty much involved me bent over for a week while the (former) hosting company plugged my behind with vienna sausages. we have a new, ass-friendly host now, so problems should be a thing of the past.
in other news, Smack Drummer has returned! the game's music tracks are now the same mixes from the Inner Monster record. also, there will be many hidden features and easter eggs added to Smack Drummer in the coming weeks, so make sure you are signed up for the newsletter (bottom of the page) to be privvy to all new smack developments.

bienvenido. we are in columbus, ohio at mudzo's cousin's place. we thank TJ in advance for wrecking his place, hitting on his fiance Selena and keeping him up all night with our PBR fueled gas. we played a great show in erie PA last night and got to party with our new friends 'the midnight jacks' and hotlanta's '7-10 split' who we will party with again on may 9 while watching the rest of the 'family guy' episodes. we play columbus tomorrow before returning to the keystone state.
mudzo exploded a bottle of fruit punch all over himself in an amazing display of 'don't be an idiot and fail' right before drummer sacrificed his water bottle to the tire of a jacked up chevy. 'twas worth it. what a day.

and we thought it would take years...
we finished mixing the album on tuesday; we spent over twelve hours in the studio, with most of our time devoted to doing this. there are a few new pictures in the gallery that exhibit the madness quite well.
at this point we feel it is appropriate to give a shout out to Kenevan, the man behind Resonant Digital Studios. he has hooked us up beyond belief, thanks a bunch man!! the mixes sound sick! we sent the mixes off to west west side music in new jersey for mastering on wednesday, and now we wait with (master)bated breath. we'll let you know how it sounds.
there are a couple shows coming up next week. we'll be in pittsburgh on tuesday the 16th at margaritaville, and we'll be rocking out the house on friday night, the 19th. if you're around, stop on by, fuckers.

A professor I had last summer came out to the show but I didn't get to talk to him because his stay was so brief. Newby finally got his feet wet and we think we just might keep him around. ha. here's the latest from UTM land...
we are uncovering our newest member and releasing him on everyone for the first time this friday at the house. he is none other than master guitarist PATRICK W. NEWBY. we kept him locked in our basement without food or water until he learned all our songs. his only company has been the dead bodies of guitarists who tried but failed to learn the songs before dehydration took them from us(teardrop). so try not to make any sudden movements around him because he is still getting used to people again.
so come and join us on the 16th at the house and again on the 24th at the brewery to help us haze the fuck out of pat.
